1. Declarative Sentences

A declarative sentence makes a statement or expresses an opinion. It ends with a period.

2. Interrogative Sentences

An interrogative sentence asks a question. It ends with a question mark.

3. Imperative Sentences

An imperative sentence gives a command or makes a request. It often ends with a period but can also end with an exclamation mark.

  • Follow the instructions carefully.

4. Exclamatory Sentences

An exclamatory sentence expresses strong emotion. It ends with an exclamation mark.
